RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Terrence Patrick Allen has gone to his eternal reward at the age of 54; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Aldermen Edward M. Burke and Margaret Laurino; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Palatine, Terrence Patrick Allen was a widely admired labor leader and the loving husband of Jean, nee Conrick; and
WHEREAS, Terrence Patrick Allen was the much-adored father of Billy, Amanda and Michael to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Terrence Patrick Allen was the dear brother of Barbara Wiemhoff, Nancy Cullerton, the Honorable Thomas, Jim, Tim, Dan and Pat; and
WHEREAS, Terrence Patrick Allen ably served as the Business Manager of Local 134 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW); and
WHEREAS, Terrence Patrick Allen was a faithful member of St. Thomas of Villanova Parish in Palatine; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Terrence Patrick Allen serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Terrence Patrick Allen to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Terrence Patrick Allen was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Terrence Patrick Allen imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this nineteenth day of November, 2014, do hereby commemorate Terrence Patrick Allen for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Terrence Patrick Allen.
