Members of the Committee,

Five (5) ordinances were referred to the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics on May 8, 2013: 02013-3429, 3428, 3426, 3425, and 3423. These ordinances appear to expand the powers of the Inspector General to include, among other things, being able to arrest people as a law enforcement agency, having a budget that is not approved by the City Council, and being able to hire without oversight. The Committee has not indicated an interest in hearing them. Accordingly, no proceedings have been conducted in Committee on these items.
