RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Ghian Foreman has announced his retirement as Executive Director of the Greater Southwest Development Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed of his retirement by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Ghian Foreman has served the business interests of the Southwest Side since 2010; and
WHEREAS, Executive Director Ghian Foreman has been committed to the communities of the Greater Southwest Side and has spearheaded the construction of the WINGS Metro Domestic Violence Shelter; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership Churchview Manor and Lawn Terrace senior citizen housing facilities have been restructured and rehabilitated; and
WHEREAS, his associates at G.S.D.C. are grateful for his leadership and collaboration; and
WHEREAS, Ghian Foreman will be accepting a position as leader of an economic development collaborative on the Southwest Side of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council wishes to congratulate Ghian Foreman on his successful tenure at G.S.C.D. and further extend best wishes for his success in his leadership role; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the members ofthe Chicago City Council assembled this tenth day of April, 2019, do hereby thank Ghian Foreman for his nine years of distinguished leadership ofthe Greater Southwest Development Corporation and wish him the very best as he begins the next phase of his career; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ghian Foreman.
