RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Members of this Chamber are pleased to congratulate John Tully, Commissioner ofthe Department of Streets and Sanitation, on the occasion of his retirement after nearly 27 years of exemplary service with the City; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Chicago, Mr. Tully spent his early years in West Englewood and has lived in the Clearing neighborhood for over 50 years; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from St. Rita High School, Mr. Tully received a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Lewis University and a master's degree in Management of Public Service from DePaul University; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Tully started his career with Cook County before serving at the Chicago Transit Authority and the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, During his time with the Department of Streets and Sanitation, Mr. Tully adeptly moved through the ranks, holding the positions of Fiscal Administrator, General Superintendent of Administration forthe Bureau of Sanitation, Deputy Commissioner forthe Bureau of Sanitation, Managing Deputy Commissioner, and First Deputy Commissioner; and

WHEREAS, In 2018, after many years of distinguished service, Mr. Tully was appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to his current position as Commissioner of ...
